The MacArthur Study Bible

Who Should Read It: Everyone
It seems both strange and daunting, even pointless, writing a summary of the The Bible. What hasn’t been said or written about it already? What could I possibly add that might be significant. The answer is nothing! Consider this page an effort inspired by completeness and consistency of my Website.
The Bible is the most well-preserved, most studied, most critiqued, most quoted, most misquoted, most revered, most hated and most widely distributed document in the history of mankind. The newest parts are almost 2000 years old — for the the oldest parts add another 1400 years . The individual “books” of the Bible were written by diverse men from different cultures separated by almost 1500 years, in either Aramaic, Hebrew or Greek. It should be no surprise that there are study Bibles. This one was recommended to me by a Bible scholar and trusted friend.
The Bible portion of this book is the New King James Translation of the 66 documents (often called “books”) comprising the “Old Testament” and the “New Testament”. These writings were produced by the hands of men, but the mind of God. The Bible is a holy book, a genealogical record, a historical record, a book for life on earth and a book that points the way to salvation.
The study portion of this book is filled with contextual explanations, cross references, timelines, footnotes, maps, notes about translations, theological interpretations, outlines, and more. In other words, it helps people who are 2000+ years removed from the actual events to better understand the intended meaning of the ancient texts.
I consider the Bible the cornerstone of my success library because I do not believe anyone can separate their spiritual life from the other parts. What one believes about God and His purpose for us establishes our character, which in turn influences every aspect of our lives. I know business owners who agree and use the Bible as a “Business Owners Manual”. (By the way, there’s some great stuff in the “Book of Proverbs.”) Even if you are not a Christian, you will find great wisdom in these pages that will impact your business and your life in powerfully positive ways.
